Golden Boy

A study in structural restraint and the aesthetics of tension. This piece utilizes the geometry of the "X" to explore themes of security and the intersection of disparate paths within a shimmering, hand-applied gold leaf field.

The composition is built from interlocking straps and metallic rings that appear to hold the canvas in a state of permanent suspension. The contrast between the rich, luminous texture of the gold leaf and the sharp lines of the "harness" creates a dialogue between opulence and constriction.
